useful information

We look forward to welcoming you to our alterations studio.

If you have a wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, prom dress or other outfit that requires alterations, please give us a call or get in touch using our online enquiry form so that we can find out a little more about your requirements.

We work on an appointment only basis. Please note that we may not always be able to give you a quotation for the work required until your appointment, when we have a chance to see the garment, though we can probably give you a rough estimate in advance.

On this page you'll find a few things that you may find useful to know.

Appointments are available on Wednesday and Thursdays from 10am – 7pm, however during the summer months to meet demand we also accept appointments on Tuesdays. Our evening appointments are very popular and they are often booked several weeks in advance, so if you require an evening appointment we recommend that you contact us as soon as possible.

Appointments typically last 45 minutes. If you require a longer appointment, for example you are bringing more than one outfit to be altered, please notify us upon booking and we will ensure that adequate time is allowed to accommodate you and your party.

please be punctual

It’s good to be punctual – if you arrive late then your allocated appointment time may be reduced. However we’d recommend that you don’t arrive more than a few minutes before your the time of your appointment as we only have a small waiting area.

what to bring with you

Please ensure that you bring the shoes that you intend to wear with your outfit. If you’re appointment is for alterations to a wedding dress or ball gown, we’d recommend that you also bring the  hoop/petticoat that you will wear with your dress.

who to bring with you

In the build up to a big event, such as a wedding, it can be a very exciting time for everyone involved. However we kindly ask that you are only accompanied by those that really need to be at the appointment – ideally no more than two people. Please try to avoid bringing young children unless you are unable to make arrangements for their care. Our work is often intricate and it’s crucial that our seamstresses are able to fully concentrate during appointments.
